Linear High Bay 4 or 6 Lamp TLED Ready
The Louvers International Linear LED High Bay (TLED Ready) is a 4 ft high bay fixture available in 4- or 6- lamp configurations, designed
with wiring flexibility to support either single-ended or double-ended DirectDrive (Type B) T8 LED tubes (lamps sold separately).
Constructed with a post-painted white steel body and high-efficiency mirror reflector, this fixture delivers uniform, high-quality illumination
for demanding spaces.
Supplied with a V-hook and chain for flexible mounting, it is rated for both dry and damp locations, making it well suited for warehouses,
manufacturing facilities, and commercial applications.
This LED Ready high bay fixture does not include a ballast, making it compatible with ballast-bypass linear LED tubes. Designed for 4 or 6 lamp installations, it provides even illumination and simplified maintenance with easy lamp access.

Here’s a little back story about TLEDs
Based on the U.S. Department of Energy’s Application Guide on LED Retrofit Kits, TLEDs, and Lighting Controls, here’s a summary highlighting the importance of TLEDs (Tubular LED lamps), including what they are, how they’re used, and their benefits:
What Are TLEDs?
TLEDs (Tubular LED lamps) are LED replacements designed to mimic the size and shape of traditional fluorescent tubes (T12, T8, T5), allowing them to fit into existing fluorescent troffers. There are three types, each with a different wiring and power setup:
- Type A (UL Type A): Plug-and-play lamps that work with existing fluorescent ballasts.
- Type B (UL Type B): Line-voltage lamps that bypass the ballast and require direct wiring to power.
- Type C (UL Type C): Lamps powered by an external LED driver instead of a built-in driver.
How Are TLEDs Used?
TLEDs are typically used to retrofit existing fluorescent fixtures, especially in commercial and federal buildings, with minimal disruption to the existing infrastructure. They can:
- Be quickly installed by replacing lamps only (Type A),
- Involve moderate rewiring for enhanced efficiency (Type B or C),
- Be part of staged upgrades that defer more invasive retrofits.
TLEDs are often the first step in energy-saving upgrades when a full fixture replacement isn’t feasible due to cost, ceiling access issues, or time constraints.
Benefits of TLEDs
1. Energy Efficiency
- TLEDs can reduce lighting energy use by 20–50%, depending on the type.
- Higher efficacy (lumens per watt) than most fluorescent tubes. Type C TLEDs offer the highest efficiency among the TLED options.
2. Lower First Cost
- TLEDs are generally the least expensive LED upgrade option.
- Minimal parts and labor costs for Type A installations, often under 5 minutes per lamp.
3. Reduced Maintenance
- Longer lifespans mean fewer replacements and less labor.
- Reduces dependence on aging ballasts (especially Types B and C).
4. Flexibility
- Can be installed in existing fixtures without altering the housing.
- Types B and C support control system integration for advanced features like dimming and occupancy sensing.
5. Quick ROI
- Ideal for federal agencies or budget-conscious projects aiming for fast energy savings with minimal upfront investment.
Considerations & Best Use
- Type A TLEDs are the easiest to install but depend on aging ballasts, which may cause flicker or fail sooner than the lamp itself.
- Type B TLEDs pose shock risks and require professional installation.
- Type C TLEDs are the safest and the best for adding controls, but they cost more than Type A.
- Agencies should verify ballast compatibility, desired light output, and control requirements before selecting a TLED type.
Why TLEDs Matter
With over 350 million fluorescent troffers still in use across U.S. commercial buildings, retrofitting to TLEDs represents a massive opportunity for energy savings. Even incremental upgrades using TLEDs can help facilities meet federal mandates, cut utility bills, and modernize building infrastructure – quickly, safely, and affordably.
